The Stages of Women

1. Neonatal
The neonatal period is the neonatal period from the umbilical cord ligation to 4 weeks after birth. During the fetal period, due to the influence of estrogen produced by the mother's ovary and placenta, the uterus, ovary and breast all develop to a certain extent, and the fetus is separated from the mother after birth, the amount of sex hormones in the blood drops rapidly, it causes the mother to have the breast enlargement or the lacteal secretion, the small amount of bleeds in the vagina several days after giving birth, all of these reactions will subside naturally in a short time.
2. Nepionic
From the first 4 weeks of life to the age of 12 is nepionic. The body continues to develop until the age of 10, but the reproductive organs remain immature. Vagina is long and narrow, vaginal epithelium is thin with plica, vaginal acidity is low; the uterus is small and the cervix is long, accounting for about 2/3 of the total length of the uterus; the ovarian is long and narrow, although the follicles can grow in large numbers, but they don’t mature to atrophy. In this process, the sexual regulation function of hypothalamus and pituitary gland gradually matures, and the amount of hormone produced by ovary is very small.
With the growth and development of children’s physique after the age of 10, the regulation function of neuroendocrine gradually develops, the hormone of hypothalamus, hypophysis and ovary increases gradually, sexual organ also grows and develops. The manifestations are the labia is full and enlarged, the vagina deepens, and the uterus grows significantly, gradually the ratio between the uterine body and the cervix exceeds 1:1, the ovarian gradually become oblong and have a small number of still not matured follicles. Female figures begin to appear, with subcutaneous fat accumulating in front of the chest, hips, shoulders and pubis; uterus, fallopian tube and ovary gradually descend into pelvic cavity; the breasts began to grow.

3. Puberty
The period from menarche to the gradual maturation of the reproductive organs is called puberty, generally from 13 to 18 years old, during this time, the body grows significantly and the reproductive organs develop rapidly, then secondary  sexual characteristics form and menstruation begins. External genitalia from childish to adult type, pubic mound raised, labia majora thickened, labia minora enlarged and pigmentation, the length and width of the vagina increase, and the mucous membrane thickens and folds appear, the uterus, especially the uterine body, is enlarged significantly, uterine body: cervix +3:2, fallopian tube thickens, curve decrease, ovarian enlarged, there are follicles in the cortex at different stages of development, and the surface of the ovary starts to appear unevenly. The secondary sex characteristic develops obviously, the tone changes, the breasts are plump and prominent; pubic and armpit hair appears; pelvic transverse diameter is greater than anteroposterior diameter; subcutaneous fat in chest and shoulders increased; female figure will show obviously.
Menarche is an important marker of the onset of puberty. Because ovarian function is not perfect yet, menstruation cycle after menarche is irregular, over time, it becomes regular. The physical and psychological changes of female adolescence are great, they think they’re mature, independent and don't like being controlled by others, but  timid, dependent, so should give care and psychological counseling.
4. Sexual Maturity
The period that ovarian function matures and has sex hormone to secrete and periodic ovulation is called sexual maturity period. It generally matures gradually from 18 and lasts for about 30 years, in the period of sexual maturity, the reproductive organs undergo periodic changes, which is the most vigorous period of female reproductive function, also known as the reproductive period.
5. Menopause
Women’s ovarian function gradually declines after menopause, the period of transition from genital atrophy to decline is called menopause, also known as perimenopause, It usually happens between the ages of 45 to 52, this  period varies in length. Because ovarian function subsidises gradually, follicle cannot develop mature and reach ovulation, the expression is menstruation amount gradually reduce, and irregular periods will finally reach menopause.
Generally after 60 years of age is gerontic. Ovarian function further retreat, ageing, ovarian shrinks, harden, the surface looks smooth, labia subcutaneous fat reduces, the vaginal mucosa is smooth and the vagina gradually becomes smaller; uterus and cervix atrophies. As a result of aging, sex hormone decreases and prone to metabolic disorders.
